Shirl the Tadpole
Not much to say about myself as I'm the shy retiring type! lol. I'm 49 at the moment (Big 50 this year - don't I feel old). I work as a Civil Servant (despite rumours to the contrary I can be civil at times). I live in Ayrshire through no fault of my own, but my heart belongs to the city of my birth - Glasgow. I have a husband John. And two sons Iain and Alisdair who both live elsewhere (YES!) And how could I forget the boss of the house - Max the cat. We took him in as an unwanted cast off about 4 years ago and he now very much rules the roost. I'd better stop now as Max wants to use the computer to talk to his girlfriend Monica in Holland.

My OU studies
I first studied not only in the last millenium but way back in 1989 in the halcyon days when word perfect was high tech. This is my first year back for 11 years and I am now totally hooked on both the WWW and First Class. I think the OU's use of the internet has revolutionised distant learning and means that no-one needs be isolated in their study.
